Get to know some of our wonderful staff members of Aiea UMC

  • Samuel Nam,  Senior Pastor

    Pastor Sam is an ordained elder in the California Pacific Annual Conference and has served in various churches in the Cal Pac over the last 17 years. The son of a United Methodist pastor, Sam grew up all over Southern California and went to high school on Oahu.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Washington University in St. Louis, MO and an M.Div from Fuller Theological Seminary.  Sam is married to Minhee and they have three children.

  • Joseph Siofele, Associate Pastor

    Pastor Joe has been our Samoan language pastor for over almost 2 decades. His gentle spirit & abiding faith makes him a natural leader. Joe and his wife Su'e have 4 children & 4 grandchildren. 


  • Patti Minietta, Director of Christian Education

    Patti  is a native of the Chicagoland area but prefers living in Hawaii. She is an Army Veteran and has served in various ministry leadership positions since 2010. Patti has a Masters in Divinity from Liberty University and enjoys sharing her faith. She is married to Brian, an Army Chaplain and they have one lovely daughter Madison.

  • karen Carlisle, bell choir director

    Karen has rung handbells for more than 40 years and directed youth and adult handbell choirs for over 27 years. She is an accomplished solo ringer and a clinician for handbells, doing maintenance work for numerous choirs. She graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Karen has lived in Hawaii since 1995. She's married to Dan, and has two lovely young children.

    Ann was born and raised in San Diego, California. She is married to Kenneth Ferguson and they have 3 children. The military brought their family to beautiful Hawaii in 2018. As a family they enjoy weekend outings, exploring, and new adventures here in Hawaii. She has a bachelor degree in sociology from Southern New Hampshire University.

  • jon palompo, Rainbow (vocal) Choir director

    Jonathon-Michael Palompo is a native of Vallejo, California and moved to Hawaii to help start a church with his family. He is currently enrolled at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa studying to obtain his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. Jonathon has worked with many choruses across the island including the Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus, the Leeward Community College Choirs, the Voices of Aloha touring choir, and the various choirs featured at UH Mānoa. Jonathon is also a member of the St. Andrews Cathedral Choral Scholars and the UH Mānoa Chamber Singers.
