Children's Ministry

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NLT)

6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

Are you a Deuteronomy 6 kind of person?  Do you have a passion for working with children?  Do you love the Scripture and relish the telling of Bible stories and sharing the history of our faith?  AUMC is looking for a Sunday School Director/ Teacher to work with our children, to communicate the LORD's love and model enthusiastic discipleship.  We are restructuring our programs following the impacts of COVID-19 and would love to talk with you; the time commitment could be anywhere from five to twenty hours a week, depending on your availability and unfolding opportunities based upon emerging program design

If you're interested, please give Pastor Sam Nam a call, and we could set up a virtual interview.

Children (PreK-5th) remain in Sunday worship for the first fifteen minutes to hear musical presentations and to participate in prayer and a children's message and then are dismissed with their teachers to Sunday School for exciting stories, experiments & crafts. On the first Sunday of each month, children return to worship to receive Communion with their families. Children and Youth assist in worship as acolytes.

Preschool age (3 years and younger) are invited to join their parents in the worship service or visit our nursery. The nursery is located through the gate, up the stairs, and in the first door on the left, across from the women's bathroom.

Children leave worship to attend age-appropriate groups for Bible based lessons that include prayer, a devotional message, craft projects, hands on activities, music, and games. After the worship service children can be picked up in our Sunday School classrooms which are the colorful doors up above the courtyard. This year we are using the Grow Curriculum and each month the children grow their faith using a different fun theme.

Our church participates in Safe Sanctuaries, a United Methodist policy that ensures the safety of our children. The entire congregation takes our duty to protect our children from physical and emotional harm seriously. We request that parent's take the time to fill out the 2019 registration form to ensure we have updated information.
