Ohana Fellowship Night

These events are a time for AUMC families to gather and have fun!  They are designed to be monthly fellowship nights for ages 0-100.  Examples of previous programs include movie night, game night, beach day, luau, trunk-or-treat, and Bible presentation.

Couples' workshop 2023

All strong couples are welcome to join us on Saturday, March 4th from 5pm-7pm for dinner, couples' activities and fellowship led by Guest Chaplain Braswell.  Childcare will be provided.  The registration fee is $10 per couple.  If you have any questions, please contact info@aieaumc.com.

Chaplain Braswell was born in Aiken, SC on May 25, 1977.  He grew up and graduated high school in South Carolina where he served several different churches in pastoral roles.  He served at Chime Bell Baptist Church in Aiken, SC for a summer while in college.  He then served as Youth Minister at Cleveland First Baptist Church in Cleveland, SC part time while completing his undergraduate degree.  He then moved to Refuge Baptist Church in Pendleton, SC for four years as Minister of Music and Youth.  He then served at Foreman Memorial Baptist Church in New Ellenton, SC from 2004 -2012 as Minister of Music and Youth.  In 2012, Dan applied and received a direct commission as an Army Chaplain after several conversations with service members from his local congregation.  The church and his family supported him on this new journey as he attended Chaplain Basic Officer Leadership Course (CHBOLC) in September 2013.  Chaplain Braswell has spent nine years on Active Duty as an Army Chaplain.  His first assignment was with 2-22 Infantry Battalion, 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, New York from 2013-2016.  During this time he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.  After one year of Clinical Pastoral Education, his assignment from 2017-2020 was to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where he served as Chaplain Clinician and Senior Pastor for the Protestant Chapel congregation.  The army then moved his family to Hawaii in 2020 where he went to serve 2-25 Aviation Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, at Wheeler Army Airfield, HI.  While serving this unit he was part of Pacific Pathways missions to Indonesia and Thailand as the Chaplain for the Aviation Task Force.  In 2022, Dan was selected to serve the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion of the 25th Infantry Division.  Chaplain Braswell is also the Senior Pastor for Schofield Community Chapel that meets at Main Post Chapel on Schofield Barracks. 


Dan received the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Christian Studies from North Greenville University in 1999, the Master of Divinity (M.Div) degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2010, and the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in 2018.  During his civilian ministry, Chaplain Braswell also spent time in local politics as both councilman and Mayor in South Carolina.


Chaplain Braswell has been married for 15 years to Cheryl.  In 2011, they adopted their four children: Lexie (26), Michael (22), Joshua (20), Shamirra (16).  They also have one granddaughter, Celeste (2).
